Tourism boosts Belize real estate
According to the quarterly report from BTB (Belize Tourism Board), the number of tourists visiting the country continues to rise. The report states that tourists visiting Belize had increased in the months of January, February and March compared to the same months in 2015.
In March this year just over 43,000 visitors entered the country, a 16.9% increase from March last year. The figures position Belize as the fastest growing destination in the Caribbean for 2016.
Tourism numbers also came from Cruise Ship tourism. The cruise arrivals for the month of February and March have increased from 3.7% to 4.1%.
According to Coldwell Banker, real estate in Belize affords foreigners the same rights as citizens from Belize. “Most tourists are dreaming of living in beach front property. Belize has numerous opportunities for tapping into new industries as it’s still fairly young and known as a developing country which means that real estate property in Belize is fairly reasonably priced for rental or purchase compared to similar property throughout the Caribbean,” said Coldwell Banker.
