Hilton launches in Rio for 2016 Summer Olympic Games
Hilton Worldwide has opened a 298-room Hilton Barra hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the company’s first hotel in this booming metropolis. With a privileged location on Avenida Abelardo Bueno in the heart of the Barra da Tijuca neighbourhood, this newest hotel in Rio de Janeiro will target visitors coming to the city for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
“This project marks an exciting milestone for Hilton as we continue to break into new Latin American markets to deliver the unmatched hospitality experience Hilton is known for,” says Rob Palleschi, global head, full service brands, Hilton Worldwide.
Developed by Carvalho Hosken S/A, the nine-story hotel displays a unique visual identity that blends contemporary architecture and design, with local artists contributing to give the hotel a Brazilian theme.
The hotel is a stone-throw away from the Rio de Janeiro Galeão International Airport, Jacarepaguá Airport in Barra da Tijuca, and the Olympic Park.
