We at dwp are very proud to have won this award. The CityScape Awards are probably the most prestigious in the Middle East region. dwp are a relatively new architectural and ID practice in the UAE, having been in our current offices for less than two years. To have won this award in this short time underlines that our new and different design approach is recognized and appreciated by the award panel, our design industry peers and and clients.
The project itself – twin residential towers in the Maysan district of Reem Island – includes large overhanging balconies which take their influence from overhanging rocks as are found in the natural wadis around Al Ain. These large balconies, maximized within the allowable design guidelines, provide excellent outdoor areas as well as good shade, optimizing the sustainability of the towers. We have many other projects ongoing at present and we are confident you will hear more about dwp in future award ceremonies.
